Work Together
We work together with farmers, communities, and partners to build a sustainable and resilient agricultural future.
Sustainable Agriculture
IGMI Trust is committed to promoting sustainable agriculture as a pathway to rural development, environmental conservation, and food security. Our initiatives focus on empowering smallholder and marginal farmers—especially women—by providing hands-on training in organic farming, natural composting, crop diversification, and integrated pest management. We encourage the use of indigenous seeds, traditional knowledge, and eco-friendly methods to reduce reliance on synthetic fertilizers and harmful agrochemicals. Special emphasis is placed on climate-resilient agricultural techniques, such as water-saving irrigation systems and drought-resistant crops, to help communities adapt to the effects of climate change.
To ensure long-term impact, we established Village Knowledge Resource Centre with the support of NABARD that serve as learning centers where farmers can observe and adopt sustainable practices. We also facilitate farmer collectives, self-help groups, and community-based organizations to promote peer learning and collective action. IGMI Trust assists farmers in connecting with local markets and government schemes to enhance their income and improve livelihoods. By integrating traditional wisdom with modern sustainability practices, we aim to build self-reliant and thriving rural farming communities that protect natural resources for future generations.
